We use SVN which provides an integer value for the current version of software. Also, the number system is shared between products.

So versions are like 22, 37 etc. rather than the CVS system of major and minor releases such as version 1.03

The current version of software is displayed in the footer and readme.txt file of the software. New release versions will be announced in news posts for the particular software.
